Whilst not as widely adopted as SaaS, IaaS (Infrastructure as a Service) is still a popular choice when wanting to eliminate/reduce the need for on-premise server infrastructure. What is often overlooked when getting buy in for this business decision is the leg work required for your software migration. And we aren't talking about the fairly straight forward stuff like Microsoft, have you even considered the non-licensable software? Even FOC software may not permit/support IaaS deployment. You need to map out the full scope and review terms and conditions for it all! Fancy some company?

With the focus almost always being on the big players (Microsoft, Oracle etc.), it is easy to forget the other volumes of licensable and non-licensable software that need to be considered when migrating to the Cloud.  And to be quite honest, it is a bit of a chore to work out whether software is permitted/supported in this area as it often involves reaching out for written consent. We love a good checklist, so more than happy to help out here!

Input

  • A list of software manufacturers with installed software on your candidate devices
  • A letter of authorization allowing us to contact your software manufacturers on your behalf

Output

  • A migration document validating which software is and isn't allowed/supported along with source documents/source document locations supporting this finding.
